Welsh Three Peaks
The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge was created by building on the success of Snowdon 500, we decided it was time to offer a more demanding challenge to our fundraisers. To complete this challenge you have to scale 3 of the most iconic mountains in Wales in just one weekend! The 3 peaks are:
South Wales – Pen Y Fan at 2907 ft.
Mid Wales – Cadair Idris at 2930 ft.
North Wales – Snowdon at 3560 ft.
The challenge begins in South Wales early on Saturday 18th May with an ascent of Pen Y Fan. You will make your own way to Mid Wales to Climb Cadair Idris, before travelling to Llanberis in North Wales late on Saturday afternoon. After a good night’s rest, Mount Snowdon is tackled early on Sunday 19th May, and at this point integrates with the Snowdon 500 Challenge which will be taking place at the same time.
Welsh Three Peaks has an amazing community feel about it. 250 walkers all walking for the same reason to help beat advanced prostate cancer! Everyone is so supportive and you get to understand why everyone is taking part. If you need motivation or some support there will be someone willing to help it is a wonderful event to be a part of.
On the Saturday evening there is a buffet dinner for all the walkers in the Dinorwig Room at the Royal Victoria Hotel, you can bring along friends and family too! It gives you the opportunity to properly talk to all the other walkers and find out about their stories while sharing your own. It is such a great community feel event that is one not to miss!
